Promote Your Brand Identity Consistently Online – and Off

Posted by Jed Jones

The idea of a “brand” can be defined in a lot of different ways. Essentially, most definitions of this word can be boiled down to something like this:

Your brand is the set of images, emotions and mental associations that are evoked in the minds of your prospects and customers when they think of or see your company name, website or logo.”

Ever since the art and science of marketing evolved into its modern form decades ago, marketing and advertising firms have known that it is essential to maintain a consistent brand identity across all advertising media. For example, you should use the same logo, color scheme and general messaging for billboards, TV ads, your website, newspaper ads, etc.. This approach to consistency will go a long way in reinforcing your brand image or identity in the minds of your prospects and customers.

Similar to that old saying about personal integrity – “Your word is your bond” – it is not far off the mark to say that “Your brand is your business.” Promote it consistently – both online and offline – and your brand image will grow much more quickly in the minds of your customers.
